Christmas-What's All The Hype?

kjenwood

Hype. Hype is an excitement and feeling of anticipation. It's that electric feeling you get when something big is about to happen, whether it's a concert, a movie release, a sports event, or even a holiday like Christmas.

Hype can build up through word of mouth, social media, advertisements, and the general buzz around an event or product. But the hype about Christmas can be more traditional than the meaning of the holiday. You see, the true hype about Christmas is that God sent His son to die on a cross for our Salvation. Why? Because we needed a Savior. He gave His only son to take the punishment for our sins, and He paid the price in full. Jesus died on the cross because God provided the ONLY way for us to spend eternity with Him. Moreover, we are free of condemnation when we accept God's gift of love-Jesus.

So what's the hype? What is the true meaning of Christmas? It's love. A love to be celebrated each year, remembering Jesus' birth and the sacrifice He made for us. Each year we give gifts and worship Him, being conscious of the poor and less fortunate.

This year, I pray we all get that electric feeling. A feeling so exciting, so full of love, that we pass it on and tell everyone about the best gift ever given: Jesus.
