Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, had been dead for four days when Jesus arrived in Bethany. Despite the grief of those around him, Jesus assured them that Lazarus' death would ultimately glorify God.
Standing before the tomb, Jesus commanded, "Lazarus, come out!" and Lazarus emerged, still wrapped in burial cloths. This miracle demonstrated Jesus' divine authority over life and death and strengthened the faith of many who witnessed it.
