* Child can build the city and place the chariots around the city.
Elisha, the prophet, had been revealing the military plans of the king of Aram to Israel. Frustrated, the king sent a large army to capture Elisha in the city of Dothan. Elisha’s servant woke up early and saw the city surrounded by horses and chariots—panic set in.
“Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” —2 Kings 6:15
Elisha calmly responded, “Don’t be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then he prayed:
“Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” —2 Kings 6:17
God answered, and the servant’s eyes were opened to see a heavenly army of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha.
When the enemy approached, Elisha prayed again—this time asking God to strike them with blindness. God did just that. Elisha then led the confused army into Samaria, where their sight was restored, and they were treated mercifully.
